This is the first time I've lived in a house with gardenia and I must say it's the most heavenly smell - I think more people should be growing them. One bloom gently perfumes a room with the most gorgeous fragrance.
I love these big buttery-hued cabbage roses that grow in our garden. The climate here is so moderate that they happily bloom through winter as well.
Only when a local horticulturist paid me a visit did I find out that these exotic looking blooms are begonias.
This shy shade-loving lily is tucked away beneath a bush next to the patio and blooms once in a blue moon!
